Acupressure
Acupressure is an ancient healing technique of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that moves and balances the body’s Chi or life-force energy by applying pressure on specific points along the energy channels known as “meridians”. These meridians run throughout the body and are the energetic connection of the body’s internal organs. The meridian system is invisible, but in TCM it is very real, very important and has many functions. One of its main roles is to transport Chi and blood, nourishing the body and protecting it from internal and external pathogens. These meridians also link the internal organs to the external body. They reflect signs of disharmony or imbalance and indicate energetic imbalances and blockages. Through Acupressure, we are able to provide healing touch or therapy to the meridian system and it’s related organs, enabling the body to become healthy and balanced.
Health Benefits
Acupressure helps our bodies to restore, replenish and maintain the natural harmony and balance needed to create optimal health and well-being. Conventional western and eastern medicines’ scientific studies and clinical observation have proven that acupressure can:
- Relieve muscle spasms
- Build the immune system
- Benefit chronic health issues
- Strengthen muscles, tendons, joints, and bones
- Balance energy to optimize the body’s natural ability to heal
- Release natural cortisone to reduce swelling and inflammation
- Release endorphins necessary to increase energy or relieve pain
- Enhance mental clarity and calm required for focus in training and performance
- Resolve injuries more readily by increasing the blood supply and removing toxins.
